It was more than 50 years ago, that Rothmund began to supply the Austrian Army with engine components. The company which was founded in 1938 originally came from the automotive business and is still one of the leading providers of engine parts in Austria and the bordering Eastern European Countries.
Because of their allied nature the military goods fitted very well into the portfolio of Rothmund and became a core competence within a short period of time.
Over the years, more and more international defence companies were integrated into the program of Rothmund and have been successfully built up within the austrian market.
It was in 1984, when the therefore necessary effort had grown to an extent, that the defence agencies were outsourced from Rothmund and combined in another company - ROTAY.

ROTAY is a commercial agency active in the defence industry. The company consists of 3 divisions, under which the representations are combined and belaboured:
The SYSTEMS area provides solid, sustained and technologically advanced system solutions for military and governmental purposes.
The VEHICLE SUPPORT segment contains international market leading groups of companies experienced in technical support, maintenance and upgrading of tracked and wheeled armoured vehicles.
The MAN SUPPORT division aims at supporting the individual soldier with leading edge technologies to facilitate concentrating on the main thing - The Mission!
