Industriewerke Saar is Europe´s largest depot level repair and maintenance facility for military equipment (tracked and wheeled vehicles) and its components. Repair and Overhaul The companies abilities range from planning and calculating a depot level facility, building up a new or modernize an existing facility, depot level repair and overhaul of vehicles, (sub)-assemblies and components to developing and performing upgrade concepts and modifications for a legacy vehicle fleet. IWS is carrying out all repair and upgrade in house because of its state of the art equipment like: Heat treatment facilities. Welding of steel, cast iron, aluminum and ballistic welding (all certificates). CNC lathe, boring, milling machines Honing and grinding machines Turning devices for tank hull machining and welding Straightening devices for tank hull straightening Surface treatment equipment Sand blasting and CARC painting Metalizing equipment Road Tankers Another core competence is the assembly of military purpose road tankers. With the STW 90 (8x8 and 8x4), IWS offers the first road tanker for loaded sea and land- transport of mineral oil products (optional: plane) with a capacity of 18.000 liters. (top and bottom loading) With their innovative concept, IWS is independent of chassis manufacturers and able to protect the driving cab of this long haul vehicle by a modular composite protection kit.
